The Aftermath * Barbed Wire Goes Up 6/1

Almost every Tuesday night, when my wife made her special "Acid Reflux Spaghetti" with an entire can of pitted whole black olives and straight storebought sauce for herself and my daughter, I'd wander on down to Andy's Drive Inn for a Seafood Combo plate. Nothing like it... and slushes that cannot be beat....and oh, yeah the cheeseburgers with the secret yellow sauce. Yummm.
Just like Arakawa's, the kids don't want any part of Andy's. So the old man is selling the land and rumours say Mike McKenna bought it and will erect a Pep Boys garage here.
I for one, do not enjoy the prospect of driving by another oily smelling mess in our Kailua, and you sure can't eat the lithium grease! And now there is no Drive Inn on O'ahu with a cool corrugated parking lot garage for customers on a rainy day or stormy night.
