Liliha St. Treats - Pu`unui, O'ahu
As the days get warmer and we get closer and closer to summer, one's mind often wanders to favorite places that offer food and cool refreshment. For mass quantities of deeeelicious local food one has to try Masu's Massive Plate Lunches (shown to the right here) at Liliha and Kuikini Streets.
A few blocks up the hill and just across Wylie Avenue you'll enter O'ahu's Pu`unui District. About a block and a half up from the intersection of Wylie and Liliha is John's Grocery (shown below) on the left side of the street. John's is the home of some of the island's tastiest shave ice treats.
Russell (shown lower right) is the Master of Shave Ice in Pu`unui. Next time you're on O'ahu you owe yourself a treat. From a buck to $2.50 the selection is ONO! Tell Russell that Rabbett from Internet Radio Hawai`i sent you - he'll get a kick out of it.
Try the Lychee or
Rainbow - they are both very cool.
Pitchas will get biggah - juss press em cuz.
