Friday, 12/20, I had to go down to Lagoon Drive to mail Christmas away via UPS. I'm often down picking stuff up here or at FEDEX, just down the road. Often, when I'm down here, I'll drive down to the end and watch planes take off and land at the Reef Runway.
Notice the huge Air Force Cargo Plane...we'll see it several times as it rolls down the runway and over to Hickam Air Base. It landed, rolled to the end of the Reef Runway, turned around and waited for five other flights to take off in a direction headed right at them, and then taxied in.
From this position, down by the Fire Training Center, you can see Diamond Head off in the distance just beyond the Reef Runway, the city, the Ko`olau Mountains, Ke`ehi Lagoon and the airport area.
Time was about eleven a.m. This is the second VR I have shot down here, the first was on film and due to the expense involved, was never processed.
You'll notice some haze...that's Volcanic Haze or VOG blowing in from the Big Island and the continuing Kilaue`a eruption.
Yes, I know the date on the VR is incorrect....oopsie!
