Saturday, 1/11/97...a New Year and my first VR of the new year...(it has been so cloudy and rainy for the past couple of weeks). This is a kinda hazy day shot looking across Kaimuki and Kahala towards Hawai`i Kai, Koko Head and Portlock. I shot this from the parking lot just outside of Diamond Head Crater entrance tunnel. One of the tour buses full of Japanese Tourists has made a picture stop....most of the tourists took pictures of each other on the bus...not too many shot the view for some reason.

The big white roofs just below the crater bumps in the backround, are the rooftops of the Hawai`i Sound Stage, where Magnum PI and other series shot interiors. Some movie companies also use those facilities.
As of this writing (1/13) George of the Jungle is being shot in the islands and several other Hollywood "jungley" features are due to be made here also.
