Saturday 2/15/97

After spending the morning and early afternoon up on top of Kaena Point doing some telephone repair work, we came down and stopped by "Guardshacks" beach. The beach is also known as Yokohamas, Yokes and Keawaula Bay (tanx eh Bruddah Iz).

Being so far out, this beach is not too crowded and the water was kickin up some good waves. The couple in the sun was from Canada and had just left 14 below weather two days before comin down..

Humpback whales played all day off Kaena Point, some folks down here saw a bunch and I saw dozens up off of the northern side all day. They were amazing to watch, some shooting straight up and out of the water and others rolling and waving with their fins.
