So here we are standing in the middle of Koloa Town on Kaua`i. It's a Wednesday afternoon and its about 1:45 p.m. to 2:05 p.m. - traffic was heavy, so I shot in and around it so as to show you the most of this bustling island burb.
The sculpture I shot is unfortunately right behind the trees to the right of the special "varied species" demonstration planting of sugar cane in the little green here. ( about 180 degrees and behind me, er you....er me...) But hey, you can now see Sueokas, the heartbeat of Koloa Town and nearby Poipu too.
Seriously tho, if ya look under the willow and over the little bench you'll see patches of the white concrete base...(yeah I know...well, I did show ya inside!)
The upper right corner of the stone smokestack (which is all that remains of the Koloa Sugar Refinery) can be seen above the "planting". I'll add a still of them both to this page as I wade through all the photos from my recent visits to the neighbor islands. I really must get over to them more often.
Think you might like to live here?
