On a trip to Mau`i, my daughter and I visited Haleakala. On the way down I stopped right around the 5000 foot elevation and took this VR of the pastureland on the side of Haleakala and the view of West Mau`i.
As the VR opens we are looking across the valley at West Mau`i. 180 degrees behind us you'll see the continuing foothills of Haleakala, but the grove of trees and the midday clouds obscure any view of the summit.
It was at this elevation during our descent that we could first see the west side clearly. Any higher up and we were literally in the clouds and the view was very fuzzy and hazy.
This vr was spun on 9/6/97 using Leah, er the Authoring Studio 1.0b3c1 beta...in fact the last two vrs were put together with that tool and PanoMatic by Jon Summers, the king of Australia ;)
