Around 4:00 p.m.
Kualoa Regional Park
Wow. A hot afternoon. A beautiful clear sky. Crystal clear waters and the legendary Chinaman's Hat revisited.
I plopped the camera and tripod down on a little bluff where once stood a tall proud coconut palm, it' s brother or sister's remains just a few short yards away, a victim of Mother Ocean's slow unrelenting bite.
The towels and bags and sneakers - all signs of a day in the sun and fun appear abandoned. Their owners do not appear to be around. No one seems to want them anymore and the tide, on it's way in, will soon claim them, washing them out to that big lost and found in the sea.
This is where Hokule'a returned home recently from her most recent Voyage of Rediscovery and this is where past Kings and Queens did play. Now Kualoa is open to all and if ya go - remember your towels.
