Saturday, May 17th - Time to pour the slab. Our mighty crew sets up, a wild man trims neighbor Joe's tree while we wait for the cement trucks. The 1st of two cement trucks actually made it thru the gate with an inch and half to spare. I did my part by staying the hell out of the way until it was time to clean tools and wash down stakes and such. I also provided liquid refreshments during and after the Big Pour. The job to pour the slab for the new addition and side garage took just 19 yards of cement. The first truck arrived 45 minutes late at about 11:30. The 2nd truck within ten minutes of the first truck's departure. The fellas wrapped up around 5:45. I then noodled around til sundown figuring out how best to cover the two slabs with two spinklers. The last shots were taken Sunday after I shut down the sprinklers and cleaned the top of the slab a bit. The concrete cooled down to normal air temperature around 4 o'clock. This addition is the culmination of a personal dream to fix up this old shack and add another bathroom and a couple big rooms so we can uncramp a bit.
