August 2005 | Photos taken with Canon 300D "Digital Rebel" camera An early morning trip up the Pali Highway (Route 61) usually yields beautiful scenic photos at one of Oahu's most popular, free parks and lookout points. The Pali was the scene of a fierce battle in 1795 when King Kamehameha I and his army battled with a rival ruler from Oahu in his sucessful attempt to unify the islands. In 1810 Kamehameha established the Kingdom of Hawaii.
