A few hours before the eclipse started, we ended up in this area in Waikoloa... the so called "clear zone". Notice all the clouds in the background.

My friend Moses Kealamakia and his wife Lesley and kids were with me during the eclipse. We left the event feeling somewhat disappointed due to the clouds.

Here are some of the other people who were in our viewing area. The guy with the big telescope was very popular as he let people view the sun through his instrument.
