Deep into the Jungles of Nu`uanu Valley we went. Here Ken Suzuki (green shirt) 2nd from right) and one of the Hawaiians celebrating King Kamehameha lll's birthday (guy in red Merrie Monarch Shirt just right of center) explain the history of the ruins of Kaniakapupu, the summer residence and celebratory grounds of King Kamehameha lll's reign. While we were there at about 10 a.m. on 3/17/01 - it was pouring rain but it was fun, educational and strangely peace inducing. You're invited to tag along with Ken on this, one of his quarterly walks.
